Yes it has been 1200 years since i last posted. But these Tarte products doe.
I feel like even though I haven't posted in a long time, this still somehow feels immediately cathartic. Makeup and the release that comes with locking myself in a room alone with some amazing music and just doing anything I want with my cosmetics is one of the only times I really get to know me. The colors I love, the attitude i'm feeling in that moment, the weird sense of freedom putting on a dark lipstick I would never have the courage to wear out in public on.
Aside from my rambling I really did miss posting, but I wasn't making time for me and the things I love. That isn't happening anymore, its time to love me, do the things that make me happy, continue on my weight loss and healthy lifestyle change and get back to learning more about who i am every step of the way.
Now lets talk Tarte products. Personally I never really had an opinion on them because I never used them! I always saw the pretty packaging in Sephora but my word are they expensive! In result of that I always kind of walked by. But a couple weeks ago I got a package with some beauty products in it and low and behold a handful of things from Tarte.
I'm a clay/gel pot liner kind of girl all the way, paired with my Mac 266, that is when I feel like I am at the top of my cat eye game. So naturally when i spotted the Tarte Clay Pot Waterproof Liner in my magical beauty box I went straight for it. At $21.00 a pot this is a bit pricey for me. I typically stick with the Blacktrack gel liner from MAC which only puts me back $16.00.
First impression of the liner was it was way smoother and creamier then the gel liners I am used to. I always put a good little dab on my hand cause it warms up the product and makes it easier to work with. When I first applied it to my brush it was so soft and easy to get the perfect amount I needed, and the application,,, to quote Mike Meyers in Coffee Talk circa 1995 it was "Like Butttta" All in all I loved it, super easy going on and long lasting, Definitely worth the money. I will for sure be replacing this when its all gone.
Another thing I got from Tarte was the Tartelette Pallet, this sells at $44.00 which is a pretty standard price for eye pallets, not to mention it has quite a few colors in it, twelve to be exact.

Colors Left to right
Top- Free spirit, Force of Nature, Dreamer, MultiTasker
Middle- Caregiver, Natural Beauty, Best Friend, Bombshell
Bottom- Super Mom, Wanderer, Power Player, Fashionista
This palette has honestly become my everyday got to since I got it. I can not name one day I have gone in 2 weeks where I haven't used it. If you love matte neutrals like I do then this product is worth every single penny spent. Not only does it have peachy beauties on the top but the roses in that middle row... #swoon. an the bottom row oh my goodness the warm smokey colors are to die for. The product itself is so soft an pigmented, it is definitely buildable. But it translates from pallet to skin beautifully, coming out really true to color. I honestly feel like I could use this pallet in place of every nude/neutral other one I have and I would never complain.
I am very impressed with the couple things I have used from Tarte so far. It's making me reconsider the fact that I care if they are a little pricier then I am used to. I also have the Park Ave Princess contour pallet in my possession though I haven't used it yet, thinking it might be time to try it out.

Artistry Makeup Review
When you get approached to try out a new product is there really any reason to say no? I am always down to stop using my favorites and try something new, the only thing is what if I don't like it? Luckily with the Artistry makeup line by Amway I wasn't at all disappointed. I got a few products to try out and I have to say for the price and quality I am thoroughly impressed. A couple of the items I was given really stood out to me, they set the bar high for everything else.
I'm a MAC foundation kind of girl so its hard to get me to use anything else. When you use something day to day that gives you incredible coverage like the Mac Studio Fix Foundation its really hard to try anything else out, but the Balancing foundation from Artistry is AMAZING. I absolutely love it. It went on so smooth and really gave me great coverage. Personally I have combination skin so it can really be hard for me sometimes to find something that compliments my skin type. I cant make any complaint about this product though, it smells great (which i one thing i wish i could say about MAC), feels light and translucent, and still give great full coverage. The best part is you what feels like a professional grade foundation for only $27.25! Not to mention the packaging on these products feels super high end and is quite beautiful.

Balancing Foundation in Vanilla - $27.25
Another product that i really loved from this collection was the 3D Face powder in Coral. This was absolutely stunning. I used this as a highlighter and the color was fantastic. Hints of gold, coral and a coppery brown, i dont think i have loved a highlighter this much since my Bare Minerals- Mineral Veil. The main reason i love it so much is the amount of color it has, its not just a translucent or glittery veil its got those summery, shimmer, bright beautiful aspects that you want out of a blush and a highlighter.
3D Face Powder in Coral - $29.95
One of my favorite parts of putting on or doing someones makeup is always the eyes. The most room to have fun, to change it up, use your imagination. The color quad i got from Artistry was not only beautiful but also super pigmented. The color came off so smooth and true to color. I chose the Dark color quad and i loved it. I also used the Artistry Essentials Mascara listed at $15.45 and the Artistry Signature eyes liquid eyeliner listed at $20.55. I'm not huge on Liquid liner i'm more into gel liners and a brush but i really liked this product. The tip was suuuuper thin which made application easy and the flow of liner was steady giving me a really clean look. The mascara was nice too, no clumps or lumps and went on great.
Artistry Essentials Color Quad- Dark $26.95
Artistry Signature Eyes- Automatic Liquid Eyeliner - $20.55
I did try out a couple more products but the ones above where the stars of the show for me. All though i loved every product i was given. Not only was the quality great, but the packaging and price grabbed me as well. I love getting makeup that looks great and doesn't make me feel guilty for emptying out my wallet. Below are some more picture of some items i got as well as my finished makeup look. Make sure to check out the Artistry cosmetics at http://www.amway.com/dnfmarketing/beauty/artistry or call Melinda or Doug Thompson at 407-953-4329 to try some on these awesome products!!

Disney Villains Collection
So being my 20's i have to admit, i should be out of my Disney phase by now. Of course i not though, i am still the biggest Disney lover/nerd ever, going to Disney World still gives me butterflies, watching movies like The Little Mermaid, Fantasia, or Hercules still make me sit and stare in wonder. So naturally when i heard about the new Disney Villains makeup collection from E.L.F. i about had a heart attack. I rushed out after work today to find these products, it only took me three stores to finally find them. They are exclusive at Walgreen's and come in 3 different types, a Look Book, and nail polish set, and eyelash sets. All of these feature 4 different villains, The Evil Queen, Ursula, Cruella De Vil and Maleficent. I was only really interested in the looks books as to me the are the best price for what you get. Each one was $9.99 and comes with 1 eyelid primer, 6 eye shadows, 1 brightening eyeliner, 1 liquid eyeliner, 1 mascara, 1 lip color, and an eye shadow brush. I opted for three out of four villains leaving out Maleficent mainly because she was blues and greens and i don't see myself using it that much, all though i love these so much now that they are home i am starting to reconsider not getting hers.
First up we have Ursula, this book contains more pinks and purples than anything else which took me by surprise, i really expected more grays and blues. I do think hers is my favorite though. Oh and can we talk about how cute these names for shadows are!?
Next up is my second favorite, Cruella. The main reason i like this one is because its all neutrals and to be honest that basically all i use on myself anymore. i am not however very fond of the lip color i don't think i could pull this one off.
Last up is The Evil Queen, i realllllly love the lip color in this one but its last on my list because the colors are just kind of blah. I was hoping for something more dark and powerful to come from this villain.
I am pretty happy with these, i cant wait to try them out. I will be doing a mini haul and get ready with me for each one so keep and eye out for that and make sure to comment and let me know which is your favorite and which is your least! Talk to you guys soon!

Jennifer Lawrence: SAG awards look
Me and my husband are currently obsessed with Jennifer Lawrence and i think most people are lying if the tell you they don't have a secret thing for her. She is flawless, down to earth, funny i could go on but i should stop before my hubby catches on to how much i admire her.
I noticed when looking through images of her makeup that she often goes for a smokey eye with heavy liner and a nude or light lip with little to no blush. The reason i went with the look from the SAG awards was because it was one of the only times i saw her go for a more daring red lip and really love it on her i think she can easily pull it off.
Here is the look we were going for

The reason i went with the look from the SAG awards was because it was one of the only times i saw her go for a more daring red lip and really love it on her i think she can easily pull it off.
Here is the look we were going for
And here is my Finished look
The main points of this look are shimmery warm shadow, heavy liner, clean matte face and bright red lip. Lets get started.
First i applied a basic moisturizer all over my face with my hands, after that i applied my MAC Prep and Prime base all over with my Real Techniques (RT) buffing brush. Since i needed more matte finish for this look i used my MAC studio fix fluid foundation in color NW25, and i applied this generously all over my face with my RT stippling brush. After that i took my MAC studio finish concealer in NW25 and my RT pointed foundation brush and applied it to all of my blemishes and blended that in with my same stippling brush i used for my foundation. The last step to prepping my face was using my Benefit erase paste in color 01 Fair right under my eyes to conceal and brighten my dark circles i applied it with my finger and buffed it in with my RT buffing brush i used for my primer.
Moving on to our eyes i went with my naked palette to get the nice warm shimmer i wanted for my lid and crease. The first color i applied was Bootycall, as lovely as t e name is the color is so much lovely...er :) its this beautiful peachy color. I applied this all over my lid as my base color using a fluffy Sephora eye brush. I then put color Chopper over top, and all over the lid. Chopper is so pretty its this shimmer peach color that i just want to use it everyday. On my outer corner i used YDK which is a bit darker but no too dramatically different and then used a tiny bit of Busted just to give my eyes some depth.
After that my eyes were basically done i added thick liner, Clinique cream liner in True Black in a bit of a point with my MAC 266 and then used an Urban Decay black eye pencil to add liner to my top and bottom water lines.
The rest of this look is super low key, I used my Stippling brush to put some light blush on just the apples of my cheeks, for this look i used a Skinn Cosmetics cream blush in color Teen Tone. I finished off my face with my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish powder in color medium plus all over my face with a large powder brush. For my lashes i used Maybelline 8 by one Volumize mascara. And lastly for the lips i used Kate Moss lipstick by Rimmel London i color 01 Rossetto.
Here are all the products used:
