Jennifer Lawrence: SAG awards look

Me and my husband are currently obsessed with Jennifer Lawrence and i think most people are lying if the tell you they don't have a secret thing for her. She is flawless, down to earth, funny i could go on but i should stop before my hubby catches on to how much i admire her.

I noticed when looking through images of her makeup that she often goes for a smokey eye with heavy liner and a nude or light lip with little to no blush. The reason i went with the look from the SAG awards was because it was one of the only times i saw her go for a more daring red lip and really love it on  her i think she can easily pull it off.

Here is the look we were going for

And here is my Finished look

The main points of this look are shimmery warm shadow, heavy liner, clean matte face and bright red lip. Lets get started.

First i applied a basic moisturizer all over my face with my hands, after that i applied my MAC Prep and Prime base all over with my Real Techniques (RT) buffing brush. Since i needed more matte finish for this look i used my MAC studio fix fluid foundation in color NW25, and i applied this generously all over my face with my RT stippling brush. After that i took my MAC studio finish concealer in NW25 and my RT pointed foundation brush and applied it to all of my blemishes and blended that in with my same stippling brush i used for my foundation. The last step to prepping my face was using my Benefit erase paste in color 01 Fair right under my eyes to conceal and brighten my dark circles i applied it with my finger and buffed it in with my RT buffing brush i used for my primer.

Moving on to our eyes i went with my naked palette to get the nice warm shimmer i wanted for my lid and crease. The first color i applied was Bootycall, as lovely as t e name is the color is so much lovely...er :) its this beautiful peachy color. I applied this all over my lid as my base color using a fluffy Sephora eye brush. I then put color Chopper over top, and all over the lid. Chopper is so pretty its this shimmer peach color that i just want to use it everyday. On my outer corner i used YDK which is a bit darker but no too dramatically different and then used a tiny bit of Busted just to give my eyes some depth.

After that my eyes were basically done i added thick liner, Clinique cream liner in True Black in a bit of a point with my MAC 266 and then used an Urban Decay black eye pencil to add liner to my top and bottom water lines.

The rest of this look is super low key, I used my Stippling brush to put some light blush on just the apples of my cheeks, for this look i used a Skinn Cosmetics cream blush in color Teen Tone. I finished off my face with my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish powder in color medium plus all over my face with a large powder brush. For my lashes i used Maybelline 8 by one Volumize mascara. And lastly for the lips i used Kate Moss lipstick by Rimmel London i color 01 Rossetto.

Cream/Gel Liner

Out of all the different things to learn when it comes to makeup this is the one that i cant seem to master. When i fist really started using liner i was going for liquid liners, simply because that's what i saw my sisters use when i was younger and my mother as well, little did i know you can buy cream and gel liners which to me, even though they are all difficult to use, are much easier to work with. The only thing with these products are that they dry super quick so if you mess up it can be quite a challenge to try and fix it. My suggestions are this:

1- PRACTICE. I don't know how many times i have gotten my entire face finished and then junked up my liner which can really make you want to kill someone because you end up having to do everything over again, and in some cases this could be worse because you might not have time to redo your makeup. So what i i like to do is when i'm bored or have no where to be i just practice with no makeup on that way if i mess it up no big deal!

2- Try different products, Personally I use Clinique Cream Liner. I like this one cause it is exactly what its name says its creamy compared to some gel liners. Its really all about comfort, you have to find a material that is easy for you to work with, every one is different!

3- Try different brushes. I was using a fine liner brush for a while which is nice for the lid and into your inner corner but if you want a nice clean flick you should try out a angled liner brush like the 266 from MAC, be careful though take it from me i used the fine liner brush for quite a while and was very use to it so when i tried to change over to the angled brush it was really hard to get used to, i am getting the hang of it finally but just be warned it does feel REALLY different.

4- Don't feel bad if you don't get it down right away it can be very discouraging  trust me i know my husband has had to listen to me scream and get upset over line on more than one occasion.

I will eventually do a tutorial for you on ways of doing liner but i don't think i should do one now since i am still learning myself. If you have any tips that help you make sure to comment and let me know and in the mean time check out my Channel and follow me on twitter!

Here are some photos from the other night when i was practicing!

Mini M.A.C. and facial product Haul!

Today i did a bad thing..... i bought some M.A.C. Cosmetics...

I did spend quite a bit but i don't often have the chance to go to MAC or spend money on their products because they are pretty expensive. I stuck to the basics with this purchase, meaning i just picked up the items i would use on a daily basis rather than random lip or eye colors, all though some of the new collections were incredibly tempting! I also stopped in my local drugstore and picked up some facial products to try out.

All together i am very happy with my purchases today.

Lets start with our MAC products, the first thing i needed was some new concealer, i like a heavy coverage when it comes to concealer because like most teenagers when i was 13-17 i didn't really know i shouldn't be picking and poking at things on my face and now i have some decent size acne scars to account to that behavior. I decided to go with the Studio Finish Concealer and was face matched in color NW25.

I also wanted to try out a different MAC foundation, the only one i have ever used and been comfortable with is the Face and Body foundation, which is a very light coverage, so naturally i completely abandoned my comfort zone and got a much more matte foundation. I went with Studio Fix Fluid in color NW25

Now recently i haven't been using any kind of base fr my makeup i have only used moisturizer for about 2 years now so i felt like it was time to go back to using an actual primer. I landed on the Prep + Prime by MAC and let me just say this stuff feels incredible, and i have only used it on the back of my hand i cant wait to try it on my face.

The last face product i got form MAC was the Mineralize Skin Finish Powder  i have seen Zoella use this as well as others compare the Rimmel stat Matte powder i currently use to this MAC product so i really wanted to give it a go. I ended up with color Medium Plus.

I did also pick up two brushes, i got a fine liner brush for my winged liner looks, as well as a 217 fluffy brush for blending shadows. The last two things i bought where both face washes, i needed a new just general in the shower or int he morning face wash so i just went with my CVS brand energizing facial cleanser. The other product i got was the Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser by Neutrogena, like i said farther up i have some bad acne scars and pretty large pores so i am hoping this cleanser is really going to help shrink my pores and help my scars look better.

I hope you all enjoyed this Mini Haul, i will have another post out on the blog on Monday and i hope to have a new video on my channel sometime next week! Make sure to leave me comments or tweet me and let me know what looks you would like me to recreate or what products you would like to see me review!

Where I've been.

If any of you had notcied or had been intersted in my beauty blog and channel you will note i havent posted anything in quite a while.
I find that being a wife and a mother makes it very hard for me to just randomly find time to post things, and make sure i am getting content out without any kind of goal or structure. i also fins that being a wifes and mother i always seem to use those two things about myself as excuses and thats not acceptable.
Because cosmotology is something i love and use as an escape, as my form of art, something i want to be part of my life for the rest of the time i get to be on this earth, i am going to force my self to set weekly goals and structured plans as to when i will release content.
right now i am planning for a blog post every monday and friday as well as onevideo a week. I will keep you all up dated and if you would like to check out my blog and channel feel free to do so.
